Global PBT production mainly in the United States, Western Europe, Japan and South Korea. Among them, the Sa Bike Innovative Plastics is the world's largest manufacturer of PBT, production capacity reached 120,000 tons / year. Other major manufacturers include DuPont, BASF and Mitsubishi. Japan and Taiwan PBT producers significantly increase production capacity since 2002, on China's exports increased year by year, China's total imports now account for about 90%.
Affected by the dumping of imported products, a few years ago domestic PBT device operating at only 15% to 25%, there is a general loss industry. Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. is China's largest manufacturer of PBT, total production capacity of 80,000 tons / year, other major producers include China National Bluestar Group Nantong Star Material Co., Ltd. (6.8 tons / year), Xinjiang Blue Shan Tuen River Chemical Co., Ltd. (60,000 tons / year) and the economy of New Materials Co., Ltd. Jiangyin (3.5 tons / year).
From the manufacturer point of view, the upstream and downstream integration has become a trend. In Yizheng Chemical Fiber, for example, is China's second largest polyester producer, with 100 tons / year of PTA production capacity. In the first half, the company 100,000 tons BDO project officially started construction. The project put into operation, the company can achieve self-sufficiency in raw materials PBT. In addition, Jiangyin, Nantong economic and so stars and their respective holding companies rely on the resources side, the industry has a strong competitive edge.
On the other hand, according to chemical-line information, BDO project under construction across the country has five production capacity 275,000 tons / year, the basic operation in 2012, when domestic production capacity will reach 700,000 tons / year. From the demand side perspective, the next few years, domestic demand for PBT growth around 9%, total consumption by 2015 will reach 40 million tons.
